April 2026 Community Update

Hello Fellow Community Members,

Once again spring is officially here! The flowers are blooming, the trees are full of color, and yes, pollen is in the air and all over everything. As we welcome longer days and warmer weather, we also have a few community updates to share.

Please take a moment to read through this email for information about what’s happening in our neighborhood. We’ve got news, reminders, and a few ways to stay connected as we move into this vibrant season together.

PHASE 5 PAINTING

Phase 5 painting will begin sometime either May or June 2026. The Board has selected Legacy Painting as this year's contractor. Phase 5 unit owners should review the pre-approved paint schemes located on the website and submit color selections to Port Gardner as early as possible. Large color swatches are available to check out if you would like to view them against your home.

A few rules to note:

  1. The Board does not approve the same color for houses right next to one another.

  2. The Board reviews and approves color choices on a first-come-first-serve basis.

  3. The Board keeps running records of all house colors in the neighborhood. If you would like to color match to another home you are welcome to do so with the exception of 9807 23rd Ave SE.

  4. If you propose a color that is not on the pre-approved list. You must submit a large body sample to the Board for consideration. Large swatches are frequently available by the paint manufacturers.

If you are unsure which phase you live in be sure to check out the various maps of Silverwood located on the website. Note, you will need to be logged into the site as a site member to see the maps.

Paid Pool Maintenance Positions - Apply by May 8, 2026

We are working on getting the pool prepped for opening day this year. The new fence is mostly installed and we are working on finalizing the gate. Just like last year we have an application process for anyone interested in staffing the pool this year.

Please note, signing up for these duties is a significant time commitment and must be performed daily for the entire time the pool is open. If the chosen employee is not available to perform their duties they must arrange their own coverage. As payment, monthly base dues ($475) will be waived for the selected applicants for June, July, August, and possibly September (weather permitting).

The summer pool duties are as follows:

  • OPENING DUTIES - Open the pool area each morning by unchaining the gate, unlocking the bathroom, testing, logging, and adjusting the pool chemicals and levels as necessary. Maintain chemical supplies and check that mechanical elements are operating correctly. (Training to be provided).

  • CLOSING DUTIES - Close the pool area at dusk each evening. This includes vacating any individuals in the pool area, picking up any trash left behind, straightening any pool furniture, and emptying the trashcan in the pool area if the trashcan is full, taking the trashcans out to the curb each Wednesday evening and returning them to their spots each Thursday. Brushing the pool walls or deploying the pool robot for the evening. (Training to be Provided) Check to see that there is toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap in the bathroom and no inordinate mess has been created. Chain and lock the gate and lock the bathroom for the evening.

Block Party

We’re starting to plan this year’s Silverwood Block Party, and we’d love your input! The celebration will take place in the cul-de-sac on 23rd Ave SE in August. Last year we had roughly 35 attendees and a lot of fun. Please be on the lookout for more information in the coming months about this year's get together.

ANNUAL GARAGE SALE

Mark your calendars, The Annual Silverwood Garage Sale is coming up on July 17, 18 & 19, 2026! We've expanded it to three days this year. Please note, you do not have to participate in all three days. As we get closer we will put out a participation sheet to see who plans to do which days so we can better understand how to market the event.

We’ll be spreading the word with ads and putting out signs on the day of, so all you need to do is get your treasures ready to sell.

Want to team up with a neighbor for a shared table? Let us know, we’re happy to help coordinate!

NEXT BOARD MEETING

Our next Board Meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2026 at 7pm via Zoom. Hope to see you there.

As always, stay safe and let us know what’s going on in your part of the neighborhood. Thank you for taking the time to read this update.
